Cassidy and her big cousin Diana who is becoming an incredible person, I still remember her as the little red head, Not the beautiful young lady that she is becoming

I have sporadically been posting things about our trip and looking back I realized that inadvertently I overlooked someone that has always been VERY special to me and saved Eric's ass BIG TIME. It is my Auntie Elaine and my Uncle Ken.

Let me give you a little back ground to help you all out that do not know. My Aunt is my father's only sibling. They had 2 kids that are considered not like cousins but brother and sister. Kevin being the oldest really did not have a lot to do with us that I remember, but I know from home videos and what I do remember he watched us, helped "Santa" get our presents ready, Encouraged us all to get into swimming, gave me my closet infatuation for the Bee Gee's that has now been busted wide open. I remember watching Kevin and just wanting to be as independent and intelligent as him. Kevin married Kathleen, who is quiet until till one gets to know her and then you meet the real Kathleen, (Isn't that right Katleen "Whats that shes drinking I'll have the same") They have three kids and regretfully I do not know them all that well. Diane, Andy, and Katie. Karen the youngest of the two as I have mentioned is my eternal kinsman, she is the Goose to my Maverick, the Harold to my Kumar, Bluto to my Flounder. Because she was younger and we are VERY similar in personality she always took me under her wing and watched out for me. She married Tom and I have never met a couple that is more suited than they are. I think that he compliments her so well. He is a great guy and although she was now married I knew that "She would be my wing man any day" Auntie Elaine is the kind of person that like ma king will change you when you meet her. She is not at a lost in the nagging department as a matter of fact if the mood hits her she can lay into you for an hour straight if she wants but more than that she is one of the kindest people you will ever meet. She literally has been my second mother who has watched me put butter in her stove and ruin it but still give me a little candy because I felt bad. She is the type of person that when she smiles at you your worries disappear. Her battle and triumph over cancer are one of the reasons that I want to be a nurse. Watching her fight for her life made me want to help others that are not that strong. Uncle Ken was my Bud. He taught me how to throw the football, the legacy of the greatest team in football the GIANTS, and all about UCONN basketball. This family is just awesome. Uncle Ken and Auntie Elaine, Karen and Tom, and Kevin came to our wedding in Alaska because that is how much I and they mean to one another. Uncle Ken cried while dancing with my wife as he told her he always hoped I would end up with some one just like her. They were the first "family" members that met my wife met and they accepted her RIGHT away
We had known that there was no kids allowed and Anna and I, as well as Amy and Jack with their three kids, and my cousin Kevin and Kathleen with their three kids were all traveling from Alaska, Connecticut, and Colorado respectively. We had all already booked our flights with all our kids and they could not go to this wedding that was being held in Disney. Uncle Ken and Auntie Elaine decided that if Eric and Marsha did not want their grand kids or Grand niece and nephews than they would supply a night of fun that those kids would not soon forget. We got an invitation in the mail requesting Justin and Joesph's presence at an overnight pizza and pool party. The boy's called and were now stoked to go. to Aunties and Uncles (How they have forever been known) After the wedding my Aunt and Uncle who had traveled an hour from Cape Canaveral waited in the heat another 39 minutes for my boys to get changed and then another 15 minutes for the girls, They then split the cars between the 2 of them and traveled with 8 kids for an hour, let my retype that, eight kids for an hour in a car. The kids ranged in age from 4 to 15. They had A BLAST ate pizza watched movies did arts and crafts and were just awesome hosts. The next day we went to Auntie and Uncles, told our sob story and were comforted and they fed our mood with food. They asked no questions except if we could stay longer which we did. We went into the pool and just had a blast that helped us forget the day before. Once again I can not say enough about my Aunt and Uncle except that they were the first in a long line of people to remind us that we were loved and RIGHT about the situation!!! I love you Auntie and Uncle thank you for everything from the bottom of our hearts and don't worry we will come back and visit you.

I concur with what my brother wrote. Auntie and Uncle are two very special people. Karen, Tom, Kevin, & Kathleen ain't too bad either. What other cousins would boycott a wedding they just spent major $$ to get to because their cousin's baby got kicked out? That's love (and a desire to "do what's right!).

I cried all over again when I saw the blog photos. We had so much fun together. My heart aches right now. Goodbyes suck!

Love you all! ~Amy

Scott and Anna, what can I say.... We miss you terribly! We enjoyed our time with you so much. Time always seems to go so quickly (especially when spending it with people that we love so much
Amy - you're not too bad yourself (and you married well :-).
