So we left Ma King's and we were on the road yet again to Washington DC after about 8 hours on the road we pulled in and due to my mothers awesomeness we had a free room for two days (that and her CC points) We got in and we walked around a bit and decided to go on a lighted cruise around DC. HELLO the highlight, it was Awesome we saw everything we could and then some!! Washington Monument, check, Vietnam memorial, check, Korean memorial, check, Jefferson memorial, check, Lincoln memorial, check, Iwo Jima, check, the only thing that we did not see was Arlington cemetery and we will do that one day! We literally got back to the hotel and passed out. Justin got to sleep on the bed with Nana and Joe was on the floor the first night. My poor wife at this point was getting sicker by the minute. She had a sore throat and just had the crud. The next day we went to the Washington mall and while the boys and girls watched the parade with a curbside seat, I saved us a perfect sight for the fireworks with our backs against the Washington monument. After the parade the ladies met me and Anna and I took off to see the rest of the sights. I was literally dragging her around and we had to stop at least 7 times so she would not puke or pass out. By the time we got back it was over cast and then they were dispersing all of us. They said weather and we later found out that it was tornado's that had touched down in the vicinity. We got herded into the Holocaust memorial which was real creepy, it is designed to look like you are entering a concentration camp with even smoke stacks off the side. We had huge lines formed and they were stripping us of our valuables as we went in (for security purposes) it was eerily reminiscent of what we had seen on movies about the Holocaust. After a bit Anna could not stay cooped up any more I agreed after a bout of dry heaves. We hailed a taxi and made it around to our hotel. Anna took a nap and mom, Justin, Joe, and myself went to eat. We came back and Anna was still asleep. We ended up going to the fire works (her favorite thing in the world that is how we know she was sick) without her and they were FANTASTIC. That night Joe fell asleep in the bed with Nana but in the morning we awoke to Nana asking Joe why he was on the floor. He responded in only the way that Joe can "Well I enjoyed sleeping there but when you farted it stunk and I just had to leave. Next day we went to the Holocaust memorial and for our private tour through the white house. Then we went to the Declaration of Independence and got to see it and the bill of rights. We then set forth to head home to our baby. All in all an awesome visit!!!

Wow! That sounds so awesome! I can't wait to hear about the private tour of the White House. Did Anna puke in a White House bathroom? 'Cause that would make me laugh.
The Korean War Memorial is my favorite. I'm definitely going to do the night tour the next time I get there.
Hey--I DO NOT fart in my sleep. Joseph must have been having a nightmare!!
We did have a ball in Washington, and I really felt bad for Anna being so sick. The fireworks were awesome--even timed with the music. There is nothing more patriotic than watching fireworks to the tune of the Star Spangled Banner in Washington D.C. on the fourth of July. It doesn't get any better than that!!!
